Milestones

A great future is built on a strong past. Our success story began in 1963 with the founding of an engineering firm in Hamburg. Since then, curiosity, courage, and passion for innovative technologies have driven us forward. Early on, we recognized the synergies between structural and civil engineering and offshore foundation structures. Today, we are a rapidly growing, multicultural team across nine locations, taking on diverse construction projects worldwide.

1963
Company founded
In Hamburg, Horst Jörß and Hans Blunck laid the groundwork for today’s company by establishing their engineering firm, “Jörss + Blunck,” with a focus on structural engineering.
1987
Leadership Team Expanded
Hans-Ulrich Ordemann joined the team, bringing his expertise in civil engineering and paving the way for further growth.
1990
New Company Name
Hans-Ulrich Ordemann became a partner, and the firm was renamed “Jörss – Blunck – Ordemann.”
2002/2012
Leadership Transition
After many successful years at the helm, company founders Horst Jörß and Hans Blunck stepped back from the business.

JBO opens a new office in Berlin—establishing close proximity to federal agencies, planning and permitting bodies, and the city’s thriving energy startup scene.

New Office is Opened
With a new office in Osnabrück, JBO reinforced its presence in Germany’s leading wind energy regions—Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia.
2022
New Office is Opened
Located in the East Frisian wind energy cluster, the new Leer office strengthens JBO’s connections with industry players, suppliers, and offshore service providers.
2024
New Offices Opened
JBO expands its footprint with two new offices—one at the central breakbulk port of Bremerhaven and another in Hannover, a key research hub for wind energy.

Leadership Team Expanded
JBO’s expertise in wind energy is further advanced when two seasoned offshore specialists, Walid Al Otaibi and Frank Heitmann, join the management team.
2025
New Office is Opened
With the opening of a new office in Taipei, Taiwan, JBO enters the dynamic offshore wind market of the Asia-Pacific region.
