The Yeonggwang Nakwol offshore wind farm is being developed off the coast of Nakwol-myeon in Jeollanam-do Province, South Korea. With a planned total capacity of 364.8 MW, it is one of the country’s most significant offshore wind projects—marking one of South Korea’s first large-scale commercial wind farms. The site will host 64 Vensys wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW. The foundations will use monopile structures, with commissioning scheduled for December 2025.
JBO was responsible for the complete design of the monopile foundations across all project phases—from concept and basic design to detailed engineering. The scope included primary and secondary steel design, interface coordination, load analysis, installation assessments, and comprehensive weight control.
