Yunlin, Taiwan

The Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm is located in the Taiwan Strait, approximately 8 to 17 km off Taiwan’s west coast, in water depths ranging from 7 to 35 m. With a total capacity of 640 MW, it is one of the largest offshore wind farms in Taiwan. The wind farm comprises 80 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines, each rated at 8 MW.

JBO was responsible for the FEED, basic, and detailed design of the substructure (monopile and transition piece). The scope of services included the design of grouted and bolted/flanged connections, secondary steel components such as J-tubes and platforms, seismic and soil liquefaction analysis, material and fabrication specifications, reassessing pile fatigue after installation.
