This year marks a special milestone for Dr.-Ing. Gerrit Haake, our Head of Certification and R&D, who has been with JBO Engineering Group for ten years. Over the past decade, Gerrit has worked at the intersection of offshore wind operations, certification and research. From accompanying Germany’s first offshore wind farm over its entire lifetime to establishing offshore inspection and certification services at JBO, his work reflects how much the industry itself has evolved. In the interview featured in this carousel, Gerrit looks back on a moment that took him all the way to Taiwan, talks about how SHM moved from research to common practice, and shares why the decommissioning of Alpha Ventus is both meaningful and emotional for him.
